Mena Alexandra Suvari (born on 13 February 1979) is an American model, actress and fashion designer. model. Following a brief time as a model in the fashion industry before moving into acting by appearing as a guest on TV shows like Boy Meets World in the 1990s and High Incident. The film debut came in 1997's dramatic Nowhere. Her roles were in American Beauty, for which she won an BAFTA Award nomination and American Pie attracted a lot of interest. She was in the film industry for a year, and appeared alongside her American Pie co star Jason Biggs. In 2001, she took on the leading part in Sugar & Spice (2000). The film also featured her in the 2002 acclaimed independent drama Spun and in the 2004 thriller feature Trauma. She also appeared in the drama series on HBO Six Feet Under in 2004 she was nominated as the Outstanding Cast at the 2005 Screen Actors Guild Awards. In 2008, she was featured in various films such as Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and as in the adaptation of The Garden of Eden. Suvari is the actress for Lancome cosmetics as well as print ads of Lancome Paris Adaptive and has been featured in several fashion magazines as well as blogs including Vogue. She's been an advocate and supporter for the African Medical and Research Foundation. She is also engaged in the issue of women empowerment and has been involved in organizations whose mission is breast cancer and End Violence Against Women campaign.
